Where all are you going?

We’re not sure yet. If we can start in early spring, we’d head south first and chase the seasons clockwise around the USA. Right now picking our exact route is pretty low priority.

Are you wealthy enough to not work for a year?

*mirthless chuckling* No. We are lining up remote work that we can do on the road.

Are you doing the work to the van yourself?

Some. Right now we’re both still really busy with our jobs, and God brought us a cousin-in-law who is briefly unemployed and skilled at things like this. While Grant has the time to work on the van we’re largely leaving the actual work in his hands. We’ll see how everyone’s workload changes this fall and adapt accordingly.

Will you have a full bathroom in the van?

Define full bathroom. We are doing a composting toilet, and an outdoor shower bag. Initially we thought we would have an indoor shower, but we read a few too many horror stories from the brave ones who have van-lifed before us. We didn’t feel like dealing with potential mold/moisture issues.

Do you have a name for the van?

We are calling the van Mammoth, because it’s very large.

What are you going to do once this year is over?

*more chuckling* we have no idea. We’ll see how healthy our bank account and relationship is at the end of this year.

What is happening to your house?

God took it upon Himself to work out ideal timing with one of our cousins getting married and needing a place to live. They will be renting our house for the time being. Most of our belongings will get packed up and put into storage.
